Tokyo Police Club are disbanding.
The Canadian indie rock outfit took to their social media platforms on 23 January to announce that they will be going separate ways.
“It’s time for TPC to say farewell. To everything there is a season, and for us the time is right to finally put the van in park (this is a metaphor, our actual van stopped working a long time ago). It has been one hell of a ride and we will be reflecting on it big time all year long,” the band members said in an Instagram post before showing their final gratitude to fans. “Thank you all from the bottom of out collective heart for listening.”

Before bidding farewell, the quartet is set to perform one last time at HISTORY in Toronto on 29 November. Tickets will be available for sale on 25 January, 10 AM EST, via Ticketmaster Canada.
Comprising Dave Monks (vocals and bass), Graham Wright (keyboards), Josh Hook (guitar), and Greg Alsop (drums), the quartet formed Tokyo Police Club in 2005 and performed shows around Toronto, Canada. Since their debut, the band has released an impressive line-up of acclaimed releases including ‘Nature Of The Experiment’, ‘Bambi’, ‘Be Good’, and ‘Tessalate’.
To date, the ‘Your English Is Good’ hitmakers have made a name for themselves after being nominated for the MuchFACTIndie Video of the Year at the iHeartRadio Much Much Video Award in 2011 with ‘Wait Up (Boots of Danger)’. Apart from that, the band was nominated for the Juno AwardAlternative Album of the Year for Champ in 2011 and TPC later in 2019.
