Hot off the most significant and successful world tour of the 21st century, Taylor Swift might be hitting the road again this year. As reported by Chinese media outlet The Paper, authorities have held "preliminary talks" with American popstar's team over the possibility of her performing in Shanghai in 2025.
Zhang Qi, deputy director of Shanghai's culture and tourism bureau, was quoted as saying, "As for whether it can take place in the end, we feel that it will have to depend on the market and the attractiveness of the city of Shanghai. But we are optimistic that there may be hope this year."
Swift's Eras tour broke box office records everywhere it went and was first to earn over $1 billion in revenue after it concluded. Her spectacular concerts and enormous fanbase have been credited for bringing massive economic boosts to each territory she visited.
China was one of the few countries where Swift did not perform as part of globetrotting Eras journey, which ran from 17 March 2023 to 8 December 2024.
