After a slew of singles, Cebu’s IIICCCYYY has finally premiered her debut EP titled Pretty Pretty.
Bringing together elements of hyperpop, J-pop, and electronica, the artist’s first full-length release is a testament to her dedication to bring new influences into the country’s emerging P-pop industry. Pretty Pretty also marks her first full-length release outside of her work as the vocalist for indie-pop band Sepia Times.
“I really had a lot of fun because I was, for the most part, left to my own devices. I had a lot of fun experimenting and trying out different things that I never thought I’d be able to do,” she shared. “My collaborators on these songs — Francis Gatmaitan (of Franciskoe), Nikko Tan, and Karl Lucente (of Mandaue Nights) — are close friends of mine and I really trusted their vision. We were all aligned with what we wanted as a whole for the songs. It felt like the right fit working with these people.”
Producer and musician Franciskoe is the sole featured artist on the EP. He also produced the tracks 'Love Gun', 'anything 4 u', and 'In My Dreams'. When talking about what it was like to have Franciskoe on the EP, IIICCCYYY shared, “Working with Francis has always been so smooth and straightforward. He’s always such a good collaborator…I plan to work with him more in the future. He’s such an underrated artist and musician, and I want to keep working with him to show people how amazing and talented he is.”
The five-track EP features the previously released singles 'Habit', 'In My Dreams' and 'Pretty Pretty'.
