Japanese band THREE1989 (pronounced as Three) have released their new song ‘Down Town (Prod. Tokimeki Records)’.
‘Down Town’ is a cover of a 1970s masterpiece that has become a part of Japanese pop history, and was selected from a covers project carried out by THREE1989 on social media.
The track was produced by Tokimeki Records, who have become a global sensation thanks to their city pop covers, resulting in a disco tune built perfectly for modern city dancefloors.
THREE1989 are a three-piece band whose members were all born in 1989. Their lyrics and music mixes dance music with the sounds of the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s, taking influence from genres such as New Jack Swing, funk, disco and R&B – a blend the band call “New Nostalgic”.
