'What A Fool I’ve Been' is the latest melancholic gem from Showbiz, the Jakarta-based dream pop duo known for their poetic and introspective sound.

Built on lush guitar layers and wistful melodies, the track paints a portrait of quiet heartbreak and hard-earned acceptance. “I thought I knew what love could mean / But hey, what a fool I’ve been,” sings Merdi Leonardo, capturing the vulnerability that defines the duo’s music.

The single — produced by Joseph Saryuf and released via Sinjitos Collective— doesn’t seek drama or absolution. Instead, it offers a reflective take on the unresolved echoes of past love, delivered with the calm maturity of someone who’s come to terms with their own mistakes.

Showbiz, comprised of Merdi (vocals) and Joseph (instrumentation, backing vocals), continue to build on the dreamy, emotionally rich sound introduced in their previous releases. This latest track shows off a slightly new hue — still melancholic, but with a clarity that lingers like a late-night thought.

'What A Fool I’ve Been' marks the second single from the duo this year, with more music on the way. Their next single, 'Could This Be The End', is set to drop in June, ahead of their upcoming full-length album.
