Filipino singer-songwriter dwta returns with fire in her veins on ‘Nasusunog (Pants On Fire)’, a powerful alt-rock departure from her folk-pop roots—out now via Sony Music Entertainment.
Fresh off her collab ‘Sampung Mga Daliri’ with SB19’s Justin, dwta embraces "graceful wrath" in this simmering anthem, co-written with Tiana Kocher, Ashley Mehta, and Martin Estrada at the Sony x Monostereo Groove songwriting camp.
“It’s not screaming or exploding; it’s just simply burning, quietly and beautifully,” dwta shares.
Inspired by the phrase “Liar, liar, pants on fire,” the track unpacks betrayal and emotional release with urgent rhythms, confessional lyrics, and gritty guitars—marking a sonic shift that draws comparisons to Jagged Little Pill-era Alanis, but with dwta’s heartfelt stamp.
Produced by Martin Estrada with co-production from Brian Lotho, 'Nasusunog' stays true to dwta’s core with acoustic textures and ornamental strings, while venturing into darker, brooding territory.
“It wasn’t just about me. It was a collective fire we all needed to let out.”
